Review on ireadnovels.wordpressA MUST BUY MUST READ This happens to be my favourite book by one of my favourite authors I was gripped from the page until the very last word There are twists in Everything You Told Me that I certainly didn t see coming and I enjoyed reading about all the little twist.Sally in her pyjamas and a wax jacket woke up 300 miles away from her Kent home in a taxi but had the correct money of 400 to pay the taxi driver She woke up in the back of the taxi with a hangover an [...]
This is my first book by Lucy Dawson and on paper it seemed to have everything I wanted in a suspense novel, an unreliable narrator who suffers from a fugue and so is unable to remember what has happened to her one night Her quest for the truth is then a twisty turny journey full of unlikable characters ,red herrings and dead ends galore So did I love it It was okay This actually started really well, with a great opener where Sally wakes up in a taxi hundreds of miles from her home The last memo [...]

An opening chapter you won t stop talking about Hardly you won t be able to pause Um No I liked this book, but I definitely wouldn t call it a gripping psychological thriller.Lucy wakes up in Cornwall, in the back seat of a cab, in her pajamas, about 300 miles from her home The last thing she remembers is going to bed The cab driver insists he knows nothing other than she owes him 400 She has no idea why, but she has exactly 400 in her pocket He takes the money and leaves her near the edge of a [...]
I wish she d jumped.I have never come across such an insane, dangerous and irritating narrator.Okay, the premise of this book sounds pretty good There s this frazzled house wife with two kids who s just about reached the end of her tether Her marriage is under strain, her sanity is a breaking point, and her youngest just refuses to sleep She s understandably struggling Then she goes to bed one night, and wakes up in the back of a taxi hundreds of miles away She s confused and the driver boots he [...]
Sally is struggling to take care of her two children, Chloe and Theo Theo is a baby and he cries a lot Sally s husband Matthew doesn t help out much, so she struggles on her own After going to bed one night Sally wakes up on a cliff 300 miles away from home with a suicide note in her pocket She has no idea how she got there and doesn t remember anything about the night, she fell asleep just like she usually does and after that everything becomes a blur What happened in the hours after she put he [...]
With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an open and honest review.I have been lucky enough to read two excellent books this week and this is one of them.My GR friends know I love psychological thrillers Everything You Told Me is everything I hope for in a good book, interesting characters, lies and intrigue. The story begins with Londoner Sally waking up in the back of a taxi in Cornwall The last thing Sally remembers is going to bed the night before Sally has two [...]
4.5 out of 5 stars Everything You Told Me is the second book by Lucy Dawson I have read, You Sent Me a Letter was the previous book which came out March 2016 The reader is once again faced with an unreliable narrator, here the protagonist wakes up over 250 miles from home in the back of a taxi with a hangover from hell and no idea how exactly what happened in the previous 10 hours Immediately my interest was piqued, what had happened to this woman, had she been kidnapped Had she escaped Has she [...]
Narrated by Jessica Ball, released by Bolinda Publishing in January 2017, just about ten hours of listening in unabridged audiobook format.Everything You Told Me is the story of a young mother who comes to hundreds of miles from home She s in her pajamas, and seemingly ready to step off a cliff But, she doesn t saved by a stranger There s a suicide note But none of this can possibly be real She s not suicidal and has no idea what has happened The last thing she remembers is getting into bed Thus [...]
Everything you Told Me is my first book by Lucy Dawson, even though I have her previous novel You Sent Me a Letter on my never ending TBR pile, but as I ve heard many good things about this author and her writing, I made sure to read the newest release in time for its publication This book turned out to be a great slow burner, with brilliantly developed characters and complex plot It was an ambitious, clever and twisty read that stays in your mind even if you re not reading it I was already hook [...]
What a wonderfully stupid and engrossing story, bit like a good soap opera, you know that it s ridiculous but you keep watching to see how it ends This story was unbelievable, but so well told, that I just kept on the journey until the end, and the final twists in the last pages.Great light hearted read.
Good psychological thriller Suspenseful but some parts dragged on The ending was a bit predictable However I didn t really get the point of it all Maybe I d lost interest by then and missed the reasoning because I had guessed the ending so much earlier The why of it all just didn t make sense to me.
Twisted and thrilling.
My View A great introductory hook and a narrative that cleverly plays into every mother s sense of guilt is she doing enough coping not copingcA great read which has all the elements I like in a good psychological thriller an great opening hook in this instance the protagonist wakes up alone and disoriented on a cliff top not knowing how she got there and with what appears to be a suicide note in her pocket. Then we have my favourite device the unreliable narrator Sally s recollections, thoughts, [...]
The you read the you are able to identify if a story has true depth This story was not very deep it really makes no sense Actually it makes sense i guess but it really bothered me that it turns out the way it does Prepare for spoilersWhen I first started reading this book the first chapter does just what they say captures your attention and gets you very interested to find out the answers Why is she in a taxi and why doesnt she know how she got there Who did this to her Well.ey really take a s [...]
Review originally published on my blog theverypinknotebookspLucy Dawson has a very distinctive writing style and her new novel, Everything You Told Me, sticks to this successful formula Earlier this year I read, The Letter You Sent, and spent my reading time with my heart beating that little bit faster, my eyes scanning the words and paragraphs and pages quickly as I tried to get to the bottom of the complete and utter muddle the protagonist found herself in and I did exactly the same with this [...]
The second book I ve read by this author, the first one I read, You Sent Me A Letter, starts off with a good hook first chapter and turned into a page turner Everything You Told Me sits in the same place.A cleverly woven complex plot this is a slow burner building to the crescendo of an ending The pace was constantly climbing through the novel and at one point it s not certain who Sally can trust Just when you think you ve sussed it Lucy Dawson throws another curve ball into the mix.I do have a [...]
Sally went to sleep in her bed but woke up in a taxi 300 miles away and seemingly planning to commit suicide A struggling new mum but devoted to her family, Sally is adamant that she did not intend to commit suicide and has no idea how she wound up in Cornwall Her family and friends think she is lying, someone must know the truth This book is good, I loved the plot, full of suspicion and fear and there is a really chilling atmosphere throughout In a way this book did grip me but I would not say [...]
This was a engrossing read with an excellent starting point I was hooked from the very first page Dawson gives a rather bleak outlook on domestic life after two children but I sided with our MC constantly, and felt so much frustration on her behalf throughout the novel, which I think is a consequence of the great writing I did however feel that the big reveal was obvious and easily reduced down to an often seen trope in thrillers which I won t reveal because of spoilers I also feel like it was s [...]
1st I put 5 stars then 4 so it s really a 4.5 A little predictable but still a really good listen The climax could have been drawn out a little The whole book was a good build up and then the author just dumped out the climax and moved on the 5months later The climax could have revealed its self a little skillfully Good psychological thriller.
I found this book very difficult to complete It s about a woman that wakes up 300 miles away from home dazed and confused and the entirety of the book is how no one can believe her Everyone is against her including her own husband It dragged on with I can t remember how I got here so may times that I wanted to pull my hair out Save yourself the time and buy the cliff notes version instead
This woman is so dense.
Really enjoyed this book from start to finish Kept me guessing until the end.
I loved the narrator Audible the story was good and kept me wanting .
An excellent psychological thriller I must say I saw whodunit from the beginning, but it was still entertaining and suspenseful The performance by Jessica Ball is very good.
This book was fantastic, I have read it in 2 days I couldn t put it down Riveting.
This was seriously gripping One of those rare treats a book I just couldn t stop reading Stressed mother of two young children, Sally wakes up one morning in the back of a taxi hundreds of miles from home with absolutely no recollection of how she got there In her pocket is a suicide note in her writing but Sally knows she had no intention to kill her self Upon arriving home, Her friends and family start to worry about her mental state and her capability to be a good mother Someone knows what ha [...]
One of a rare variety of book, the completely unputdownable, and even when you aren t reading it, the story is still in your mind, and I found myself thinking about the book, then the work I was meant to be doing Everything You Told Me is a story that will make you think, there are two potential ways you will be thinking initially as you read the book Either you believe Sally is telling the truth that she has absolutely no clue as to how she ended up in a taxi 250 miles away, with what appears [...]
